Is it detectable?
Scalp micro pigmentation is an effective hair loss solution because of its consistently natural and undetectable results. Chris, HeadStrongNY Lead Specialist is the innovator and originator of 3D Scalp MicroPigmentation. Chris will seamlessly replicate each individual hair follicle to create a perfect match for each client.
How real does it look?
SMP has become such a sought after hair loss solution because of its ability to replicate the most natural, realistic individual hair follicles. When applied by a trained specialist with the ability to make tiny pigment deposits, the “follicle” will match the individual’s own hair in both size and color.
What hair length do i need to maintain?
Usually, the best hair length to maximize the results of your SMP treatment is a short cropped or shaved style. Men with considerate degrees of hair loss are recommended to keep remaining hair cropped closely so that the treatment blends well and mimics a full head of shaved hair. For those men with just minor thinning or hair loss, it is possible to keep hair at a bit longer length, as the SMP can act as a form of thickener to create an illusion of denser hair!
Can SMP camouflage my transplant scar?
Yes! By replicating tiny hair follicles inside the scarring and blending the color around the scarring area, transplant and surgical scars can see massive improvement in concealment.
Here is a successful NYC Doctor’s Scalp MicroPigmentation performed by Chris, HeadStrongNY Lead Specialist. Dr. J had 6 raised scars, grafts and fue holes, incredible full head transformation, difficult scar camouflage. Wonderful, Natural, Subtle Results!
Is this a tattoo?
All permanent cosmetic makeup is a form of a tattoo. However, Scalp Micropigmentation utilizes a different machine and needle than what is used by traditional tattoo artists. In SMP a digitally controlled machine is used and the needles used in SMP are often much smaller than typical tattoo needles and are designed to mimic an individual hair follicle.
How long will it last?
Once your treatment is completed you can expect the color and strength of your style to last many years depending upon sun exposure and proper maintenance. When the individual feels they would like to refresh their treatment down the line, they may undergo a quick “touch-up” session that restores any small fading and provides the client with many further years of longevity.

Your First Session
When you arrive for your first session, you will be greeted by your Treatment Specialist and spend ample time discussing your transformation goals. Hairline shape, follicle density, strength of color, and other specifications will all be outlined prior to treatment, and can often be adjusted during the process. http://www.scalp-aesthetics.com
After agreeing on your individual style your Specialist will proceed by strategically and carefully depositing pigment into the scalp that replicates your own natural follicles. Each deposit is a new “hair” being created! Your whole scalp (hair loss area) will be treated on your first session with a good density and prominent color. You will see a big difference immediately after treatment!
Your treatment specialist will conclude your First Session by providing you detailed aftercare guidelines and offer any other advice or instructions that are necessary. http://www.scalpguru.com
Your Follow Up Session
Most clients will return for their follow up treatment within 7-10 days of their first. The follow up session is a very important part of the SMP process, as it allows us to assess how the color and style has settled so your Specialist can advance and add further detail to your look. It also allows you to provide feedback on any adjustments to the style or hairline you wish to make. http://www.hishairclinic.com
You and your Specialist may wish to go darker, adjust hairline and profiles, and add further density.
Your Specialist will then proceed through the scalp again adding more follicle deposits, which will thicken and strengthen the overall appearance. However, this time the hand pressure, needle angle and dot size will be adjusted using multiple techniques to deliver a hip blended and natural result, undetectable to anyone even within 3 inches away creating a natural and subtle new look.
Slow and Steady wins this game
At HeadStrongNY we know what it takes to deliver world class results. By building up the treatment slowly over the course of multiple sessions, it ensures for a seamless blend.

Alopecia clients can restore the look of full hair
Alopecia is a condition that describes the partial or total loss of hair from the scalp, and many times eyebrows and facial hair. We are able to treat all types of chronic Alopecia, including Alopecia Areata and Alopecia Universalis.
For our Alopecia clients, their treatment works much the same way as general male pattern baldness, but also includes reconstruction of the side profile lines, neck line, and ear lines. For Areata clients, we carefully fill in the bald patches to match up to the remaining hair. When completed, the client will have full follicle density throughout the scalp, a hairline to frame the face, and a clean style to wear proudly. HeadStrongNY Lead Specialist Chris transforms Alopecia client Henry, 2 treatments.
